Lessons 14 & 15

Final projects, critique and evaluation
What's on:

Final Project:

During lesson 14 you will be asked to execute 1 drawing in 120 minutes.

You can choose one of the techniques and media introduced during the course:

  1. Pencil
  2. Ink & Pen
  3. Charchoal
  4. Ink & Brush
  5. Ink & White on toned paper

You can mix media. 

You can choose any subject you want. 

This drawing will demonstrate drawing skills acquired during the course and will have bigger weight in the final critique.  

 

Final Critique:

Lesson 15 will be dedicated to the final critique and course evaluation..

What you should present:

  1. All drawings done in class
  2. All assignments done in your free time
  3. Final project

What will be evaluated:

  1. Your progress from the beginning of the course
  2. Effort done to improve drawing skills and assimilate drawing concepts
  3. As it was declared during course introduction, home assignments are not obligatory, but represent a significant bonus.

You still have a little time to improve and finalize your drawings before presenting them in class.

Assignment for Lesson 14:

  • Make a color interpretation of one of the drawings shown during previous lessons. Use maximum 2 colors + black.
  • Make one more mixed media drawing from observation on tinted paper.
  • Make one more mixed media drawing from a photo on tinted paper.

  • Make a copy of one of the master drawings presented in class
  • Do the following freehand drawing exercises:
    1. One page of parallel lines in two columns (1 cm of spacing and 0.5 cm of spacing between lines).
    2. One page with 6 “stars” of intersecting lines (3 connecting points, 3 intersecting with the center).
    3. One page with curves through multiple points
    4. One page with 3 couples of boxes in 1 point perspective
    5. One page with 3 boxes in 2 point perspective
    6. One page with 5 rows of ellipses on common minor axis
    7. One page with 3 rows of ellipses on common minor axis with growing width
  • Make 1 more drawing from photos taken in the museum
